Shivers (aka They Came from Within)
A scientist working on genetically created parasites as a first step to growing new organs, gets himself infected with the parasite. He brings the thing home to his newfangled and high tech apartment complex. Things spread from there.
One of many body invading themed films from writer/director, David Cronenberg.
The film is from 1975 but play pretty well today. Cronenberg's themes are timeless. He takes a couple of six inch, goofy looking, prosthetic dog turd looking things and creates horror that attacks us on an anthropological level. A master.
I posted Shivers as a daily poster before, but the old lady and I just watched it recently and have been talking about it.
The trailer is a textbook example of a 70's horror film trailer.
